Thirteenth G A R Encampment Set for Anniston
The thirteenth annual Grand Army of the Republic Alabama division encampment will be held in Anniston on April 22 at the Daniel Tyler Post hall. Department Commander Randolph issues orders for post adjutants to report at 10 a m and present member credentials for seating and badges. Credentials committee to meet at 10:30 a m to prepare the roll. Continued on page 4.

City Council Elects New Officers In Sworn Session

City Prisoner Dies After Bottle Suspected Coffee Containing Liquid
A city prisoner died this afternoon after drinking from a bottle believed to contain coffee. The bottle, found at his home on Fourteenth and Brown, was said to contain a liquid linked to his illness. Guards and doctors attended him as he grew worse and died about an hour later. Police had recently jailed another inmate on disorderly conduct charges and fines.
