Andrews Track Meet Draws Large Local Turnout
The Andrews Summer Track Program hosted a last Friday meet at Mustang Bowl drawing many area schools including Buena Vista Kermit Odessa Seminole Denver City and Andrews. Divisions ranged from sub bantam to senior with separate girls and boys races and ribbons or medals awarded. Notable results include Tray Porter winning the 100 yd dash and the 440 relay teams placing in multiple spots.

Andrews Man Jailed Here Saturday
A 30 year old Andrews man remained in county jail here Tuesday afternoon in lieu of 15000 for alleged possession of drugs. Jesse Saldana of 109 NE Ave F Place was taken into custody about 10 p.m. Saturday night by deputies at his residence. Deputies were armed with a search warrant and said they found substances believed to be marijuana and hashish. Saldana was charged and arraigned before Justice of the Peace Jay Williams who placed bond at 15000. A deputy said several other substances were found at the residence and taken to Midland for chemical analysis. He said they turned out to be heroin and at drug Phenencyclidine and tablets to be LSD.

County Lets Bids on Hospital Expansion at Permian General
