Curtis Nix and Arlen Kellum of Andrews visited Sunday with Nix parents who are hospitalized in Fort Stockton. The Nixes and Danny Wilson of Andrews met in Odessa for dinner after a trip to Lamesa and Midland. Nicky Thornton of Dallas spent two weeks in Andrews visiting relatives.
Blanche Burk and John Burk were installed as worthy matron and patron at a Saturday ceremony in the Masonic Lodge for Andrews Chapter No 849 Order of the Eastern Star. Officers and dignitaries participated in a faith themed service with prayers, hymns, and a reception following the installation.
Mrs Harold S Roberts became the bride of Herman Haskell Cox in a single ring ceremony Tuesday night at 8 pm in the brides home at 1000 NW 5th officiated by Rev Clark Lanner. Attendants were the bride's daughter Sidney Roberts and Mrs Arlene McQuartters. A reception followed at Nix Restaurant for twenty five guests. The couple plans a wedding trip to Possum Kingdom and North Texas before settling at 1000 NW 5th. The bride has lived in Andrews 18 years. the groom, formerly of Odessa, works for Humble Oil and Refining.
Little Miss Joni Summitt celebrated her fourth birthday with a Thursday party at her grandparents home, followed by a Sand Hills picnic planned for today. Attendants include her brother Brent and cousins Ronnie Glenda and Lisa Holman.
Mr and Mrs Rickey Merritt announce the birth of a daughter at Permian General Hospital at 1 26 p m on Wednesday June 16. The baby weighed 7 lb 4 oz.
