County Lets Bid on PGH Project and Vehicle

Ponies secure all district honors in 1977 baseball
Andrews Mustangs place eight players on the 1977 N AAA All District team led by pitcher Jimmy Tompkins who shared MVP honors with Linver Mosby of Pecos. Tompkins posted a 5 1 district record and a 0 38 ERA with four shutouts and 65 strikeouts. Ricky Kidd earned first team catcher honors with a .211 average while four Mustangs made second team including Bill Clift Jay Nabors Tim Trower and Joe Dan Barnes. Honorable mentions went to Joe Gonzales and Kenny Munsell.

George E. Satterwhite 73 of Andrews died after a heart attack. Funeral at First Baptist Church with Rev. Carl Grissom officiating. Masonic graveside rites conducted at Andrews Cemetery by Masonic Lodge No. 1024. Survivors include wife Leona two sons and several stepchildren two daughters three sisters and eight grandchildren.
