Ex-Co Atty Jailed In Andrews County Bond Theft Case
Former Andrews County Attorney J P Williams was arrested on charges of fraudulently selling county bonds in 1936. He faces accusations of misappropriating 6500 in bonds from Andrews County and 6000 in city issued bonds from O Donnell. Bonds were first discovered missing after county officials found old German bonds in a Midland bank safe. Williams was jailed in Lubbock and later moved to Seminole and then to local jail. Appearance bond set at 4000, no confession yet.

Odessa June 14 Ector county records another death in a week of violence with five victims four days. William Arthur Hill 46 a unit operator for E L Farmer and associates oil field contractors died after a fall from an oil derrick four miles north of Duro in the Harper Pool. Rites for Mrs Pennington and Cullins were held today and services for Pennington are pending. Arrangements for Hills services were incomplete tonight.
