Forest Service replanting 275 miles of shelterbelts urged
State Director Webb reports completion of over 275 miles of shelterbelt replanting by year end in Texas. About 660000 trees including cottonwood elm honey locust and desert willow were planted from December to March. A study of the seven coyotes poison campaign in Ed Crane and Andrews counties is set for this weekend, says County HL Atkins Jr. Trappers began January 13 distributing bait across ranches in Crane and Andrews. Fire destroys residence of Bevers family in Andrews
A house fire on the north side of Andrews totally destroyed the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Bevers and its contents. Investigators report a small child alone inside possibly started the blaze with matches. Insurance status unknown.
