Anaheim hotel deal reshapes aging Arena Inn into Hampton Inn
Bobby Bhagat and Prospero Hotels plan a 178 room five story Hampton Inn and Suites on 2.06 acres at 100 W Katella Ave in Anaheim replacing the old Arena Inn. The project features a modern design, a second level pool deck, meeting rooms and a fitness center as Anaheim Resort grows around Disneyland. The recession paused the plan but current conditions allow redevelopment as Star Wars land nears completion.

Seniors push back on plan to build near Anaheim Center
More than 80 residents gathered at the Anaheim Downtown Community Center to oppose selling a roughly 3 acre surface lot for townhouse development. They fear traffic, density and loss of parking for the Senior Center and skate park adjacent to Center Street and East Broadway. The Anaheim Housing Authority owns the site and has floated a $7 million sale, according to city project staff.
