Eyes of the world focus on Brixton Prison where Terence MacSwiney, the Lord Mayor of Cork, sentenced for sedition, remains incarcerated in critical condition as authorities await his fate.
Seven of eleven Cork strikers are reported in critical condition in jail. One claimant asserts American citizenship as authorities investigate the incident and its motives.
A Gaelic league bulletin from London reports Lord Mayor MacSwiney of Cork on hunger strike in Brixton jail is in extreme exhaustion and in great pain. The update notes a turn for the worse after a slightly better night, with Dominic visiting as usual.
Harold Barry former Cork high sheriff reports an Irish office United Kingdom message requesting an immediate meeting with Cork police chiefs to review government actions against hunger strikers Sean Hennessy and Joseph Murphy who claims American citizenship. Barry pursues an alibi witness to prove Hennessy’s innocence and win possible prisoner releases tonight.
Seven of eleven hunger strikers in Cork jail were described as critical, with Sean Hennessy and Kenneth Hennessy among the weak and unconscious. Joseph Murphy, under investigation as an American, faced a troublesome cough and refused treatment. An AP correspondent met the jail doctors and observed the physicians' assessment.
Helena police arrest a man calling himself Matt Austin, matched to a capital city murder suspect description. Detectives Mike Dwyer and James Larkin detained him after a disturbance at the National hotel on Utah avenue. Awaiting arrival of Helena detectives in Butte to confirm identity. victim’s name not released.
A bold burglary at Mrs. A. W. Criss home at 2909 State street involved a gang with at least two men and one woman. They ransacked drawers scattering items and fled with rugs silverware curtains and various feminine articles before speeding away in a car. Mrs Criss had been at Warren B. Davis and Mrs Davis home nearby when she sighted the trio leaving through the back door.
Louisa Fletcher, 17, heiress to millions and daughter of Staughton H. Fletcher, shaved her hair and fled under the alias Willie Sullivan. She rode from Grapevine Cove to Ipswich, was tracked by City Marshal Casey and governess Miss Fritz, and jailed after identification. She confessed little at the station.
Will Echols, a Black man recently convicted of murder, was taken from Quitman jail by a small mob. He was driven two miles into the countryside and shot dead. Echols had been scheduled for hanging last Friday, but the sentence was stayed pending a Mississippi Supreme Court appeal.
Colonel Theodore Roosevelt Jr arrives in Butte at 5 25 p m tomorrow to speak at People Theatre at 8 p m in support of Senator Harding. He travels with Raymond Robbins of Chicago a Progressive Party founder. A republican committee welcomes him and Badger dinner before leaving for Billings on Burlington at 10 25.

Georgia Prest known as Betty Butte the first woman aviator to appear at the Helena state fair will perform stunts today. She will fly with Major Thompson in a thrill show for fairgoers. Prest formerly Miss Georgia Emerson of Anaconda and has a 23 month old daughter Jimmie who has flown twice, the youngest aerial traveler. Her maiden flight was in Venice California in December 1917.
Kenneth Simmons of Butte Montana captured the Intermountain tennis championship singles title in Salt Lake City defeating R M Scott of Denver 6-3 6-4 1-6 6-1. Doubles final saw Simmons and Wirehler of Casper win 8-6 6-1 over Sam Nell and D C Roberts of Salt Lake. completion deferred to tomorrow due to darkness.
In New Brunswick, Sept 12, Misses Sadie and Susie Selter were shot to death in an automobile by a man in an army uniform. A military posse wounded and captured 26 year old Mike Muarakovitch after he was shot. police report a single bullet killed both sisters.
D Leigh Colvin the prohibition party vice presidential candidate spoke at First Methodist church Portland after addresses at First Nazarene and Lents Evangelical churches. Large crowds welcomed him at each stop before he left late tonight for Seattle.
Albert Beltran, 19, arrested in San Francisco after returning from Alaska fisheries in connection with the April death of motion picture actress Gladys Goulding, wife of a film director. He allegedly told a shipmate he left Los Angeles due to the actress’s overdose death. information wired to police and Beltran held pending investigation.
Eugene report states Willard Dempter two year old died after a rifle in his four year old brother James’s hands discharged, inflicting a wound to the leg. Despite a 45 mile ambulance trip, the child died of loss of blood.
London reporting from Constantinople states General Wrangel reports severe fighting near Pologhi. An entire Bolshevist brigade including its staff has been captured, signaling a significant setback for Bolshevik forces.

Ole Harrington was arrested on Anaconda road by Deputy Sheriffs Leary and McDonald, charged with taking part in the Dwyer house robbery at 818 North Wyoming street. Bartender Hennigan said he sent 49 in the holdup. a mask was found on Harrington and he was identified by Hennigan. The Dwyer rooming house at 818 North Wyoming street was also targeted Friday night by three masked men, who demanded hands up, frightened patrons, but fled without taking the till containing over 190 dollars. no pursuit was attempted.
Washington reports Mexico is set to lead Western Hemisphere oil supply as US demand may exhaust domestic fields in 20 to 25 years. The commerce department notes Mexico, with 32 350 square miles of potential, already exports 60 million barrels in six months of 1920, and 27 oil fields are US owned or joint ventures.
