Butte Police Court Awash With Robbery and Impersonation
Judge Boyle handled three cases in the police court yesterday afternoon. Rose Smith and Molly Jones, both accused of robbing male visitors, faced trial, with Smith found guilty and sentence deferred to 10 o'clock today. Peterson testified he was robbed by Molly Jones after spending about $40 on drinks with her, prompting a future district court proceeding. Martin Elward and John Hicks, charged with impersonating officers, began their trial but adjourned to today. Ida Moore testified that one man claimed to be a detective and demanded money under threat of arrest.
