Omaha Kansas City and Missouri river points pay 26 dollars while St Louis New Orleans and Mississippi river points pay 30 dollars Peoria 31 dollars and Chicago 23 dollars. Rates run until October 31 with stopover privileges in California. A booklet California for 25 dollars by prominent men covers many subjects and is free from any Southern Pacific agent.

Butte Doctor Encounters Bogus Check Forgery Case
Dr W P Kelley lent $400 on a $900 check written to M W Hetzell later identified as Hartzell a suspected shyster now jailed in Spokane. The forged instrument was signed W J Hartwood and the victim aided the con by cashing and securing the check. Authorities seek Hartzell on forgery charges as they pursue requisition papers. Also an old railroad excursion notice to Yellowstone Park and a medical ad conclude the fragment.
