Baseball legend Mickey Mantle pursues an accounting against the Largey estate to determine his share of an inheritance. The suit seeks to verify distributions and establish proper claims amid the estate proceedings.
Ex Senator Lee Mantle files two accounting suits claiming a one sixteenth interest in the Speculator mine profits from 1898 1900 and after the heirs received 127864 58 while he seeks his share. Separate suit targets Mrs Largey and heirs with attorneys McHatton Cotter Haskins Roote. A third suit against Speculator Mining Co seeks bond related injunction lifted.
Miss Fannie Schulz accuses Rev. J Bar Harris of misconduct as the Bozeman case nears a church committee inquiry in Butte. Harris was acquitted in Bozeman criminal court, while his supporters defend his exemplary life and fame in the Methodist South Conference.
In a day of mixed favorites and small attendance, MacFlecknoe roared from off the pace to win by two lengths. Ned Dennis led a late surge while Flamero and other picks fared less strongly on a card filled with mile and sprint events at the track.

The Sisters return from Deer Lodge summer school and improvements extend to teaching aids new maps charts books and library additions. The C. O. D. steam laundry formerly run by Sandahl and Taylor has formed a new corporation named C. O. D. Steam Laundry Company. Incorporators are A. A. Sandahl R. E. Taylor and T. J. Casey. Capitalization is $125,000.
From the Smeltermen's Union. The Mill and Smeltermen's union of this city has elected the following delegates to the mining congress: J. W. Bennings, Charles W. Whiteley, F. B. Axtell Joseph Harrington, Han Young, alternate, Andrew Martz.
Don Hayes passed away prompting the Sacred Heart parish outing planned for Gregson Springs to be postponed. The new date and location will be announced later.

At St Louis on August 28 Kinloch Park hosted six races. King Barleycorn won the first at 1:46 14, Lelia Maynon won the second, Governor Boyd took the brutar steeplechase in 3:10, Bacchus won the fourth, Flop claimed the fifth, and Lovable won the sixth with fast times throughout.
Karl Kahler and Serge win opening races at Hawthorne meet. Lord Farondale and Scarlet Lily take later events as Hermencia is disqualified for fouling. Corinne Uniand and McChesney also score in six races with solid times.
At Saratoga on August 28 Hermis edged Whiskey King by a head to win the Saranac handicap for 3-year-olds with Cunard in third after a strong late move by owner Bell. The card also lists results for five other races including Red Knight and Cloche d Or and times for each race.
Mr Gavin former grand exalted ruler of the order and his wife were hosted by the Butte Elks for several hours after arriving from San Francisco. A banquet at Columbia Gardens honored them with Mayor Davey and others speaking. They departed for Monida and Yellowstone park after a reception at the Thornton hotel.
