Gilbert resident with Baptist faith laid to rest
An elderly Gilbert man who moved from his farm seven years ago passed away at home. He joined the Baptist church in 1860 before moving to town. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Parend at the Congregational church while interment followed at the cemetery east of Gilbert.

Car Jump Over Grade Leaves Five Injured in Ames Event
A car leaped a road grade of 110 feet after a frightened horse spooked it. Mr Scott and four others were badly hurt. Mrs Scott broke two ribs and suffered serious bruises. Mrs Scott was hospitalized in Mankato and is slowly improving. Mr Scott is son of Andrew Scott of Ames.

Pligha Franklin Rainbolt born October 1834 in Lawrence county Indiana died September 18 1912 in Gilbert Iowa aged 77 years 9 months 17 days married Sarah J McLean February 18 1858. He and his wife had seven children three daughters four sons daughters predeceased him widow and four sons Walter Virgil Bert Roscoe remained near Gilbert. He moved from Indiana to Story county near Gilbert in April 1879.
