Major Rich found eight razors four pairs of clippers and all razor bones missing after a burglar used a skeleton key to enter by the front door. He traveled to Des Moines to replace tools and checked pawn shops but found no trace of the stolen items.

Florence Pierce asks to end her marriage to George Pierce with custody sought. Christian Reynard asks divorce from Clarence Reynard. Frank M. Noble seeks divorce from Malinda M. Noble. Clara Burrell petitions against Lester Burrell, who is serving a penitentiary term amid other indictments.

A college hazing incident left a greenhorn stripped and covered in Tanglefoot fly paper. The victim wandered to his boarding house in a paper cloak and bribed his roommate to remove it with gasoline. The spree ended with the rioters disappearing into the woods.
Mr John H Smith and Miss Maud Short were married by Justice McBirnie at Boone last Saturday evening at 6 00 PM They returned to Ames on the next train and will make their home there.
The Des Moines district conference voted 105 to 60 to hold the next meeting in Ames over Perry. The district covers a quarter of Iowa Methodist work, with about 51,000 Methodists and 250 members. A new Methodist church in Ames will be finished this fall and likely hosts the dedication event.
Inspector Major Brackett of the United States treasury department visited Ames to inspect offered sites for a new federal building. He measured grounds and studied options but did not declare a preferred site. After Iowa Falls and Fort Madison he will report to Washington and may recommend one location or call for more bids.

Charley Dawson, a prosperous farmer from between this city and Nevada, visited Ames on Tuesday to purchase a new red Overland touring car from O'Brien & Son. He reportedly secured the best machine in the city. A baby boy was born to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Alleman last Saturday.
Eph Stillman, the bi weekly mail carrier south of the city, had a dramatic runaway Friday afternoon as his horse tore loose. The horse collided with an interurban car on Duff Avenue, the driver held on, then quieted and returned home. Despite several incidents, Eph has avoided injury so far.
