Four Big Games To Be Played At Iowa State College

Iowa State College athletic council announces reserved seating for the four big games. Season tickets at two dollars will include a seat number, guaranteeing a reserved seat for the holder. Previously, crowds crowded the reserve sections with little seating control.

Cup Shoot At Fun Club Grounds Draws Local Sportane

Today at 1 pm the cup shoot on the grounds east of the city features ten events with varied bird counts. The main championship offers 25 birds. other events use 10 or 15 birds, including both barrels at 18 and 19 yards and a 10 bird miss and out. A rear door break in at Wettstein tailoring allowed thieves to steal several newly made suits worth about 200 dollars. Police were alerted but no arrests reported as investigators seek clues.

Auto scare on street as man slips before moving Reo

Dan McCarthy crossed toward Union National bank when Ole Knudson's Reo approached. McCarthy slipped in the road and fell 10 feet from the car, which stopped 10 feet away. McCarthy cursed loudly while Knudson apologized. driver had no lights and the speed was about four miles per hour.

Aldrich Sentenced to Ten Years for Bank Default

Ralph Aldrich the Huxley bank cashier who defaulted on $22,000 and squandered it on the board of trade was sentenced by Judge Lee to ten years in the state penitentiary. He pled guilty and showed little surprise as the sentence was read. The sheriff will likely take him to Anamosa today.

Student injured after fall from crowded noon car

A sophomore student, W. S. Beebe of Paullina Iowa, was hurled from the steps of a college noon car and seriously hurt as cars were overcrowded with students. The packed car carried students in vestibules and on steps, with others perched on the top amid chaotic conditions.

A meeting at the college chapel last Saturday organized a large group of students into a voters club to study a voting system for Ames in the forthcoming presidential election. Fall from hay loft injures Charley Watkins

Tuesday afternoon Charley Watkins fell from a hay loft at his home and snagged on a projecting nail. He was unconscious for about an hour, struck the ground hard, and the nail tore a deep gash near the abdomen. Physicians treated him and he is improving as expected.

Stebbins Case Is Called Off

Joe Stebbins, long confined in the county jail awaiting trial on an unmentionable charge, had the case dismissed this week as the state withdrew the charges before evidence was completed. Former college janitor, tried last term, witnesses scarce, held on default of bond, now released.

Ames Receives 25 War Horses for Training

Major Broughton recommends sending twenty five regular cavalry horses to Ames for training at the college. The horses will be housed with the battalion during the school year to ensure they are in good condition for active use when Company C goes to camp.
