Ames College Mail Messenger Appoints Billy Childs

Billy Childs begins work as mail messenger between Ames and the college after Chris Barbour resigned earlier. Hollingsworth had served as substitute for weeks following Barbour’s injury in an accident near the campus. Two Deer Brought Home From Wisconsin Hunts

On Saturday evening near the college town, W W Talbott and Gene Smith arrived by train with two large gray deer killed in the Wisconsin pineries. The venison was stored at Talbott bakery and Nelson Nibel’s market. Talbott plans to recount hunting stories, noting they are regular deer hunters who typically bring in two deer each year, though laws limit one per man. Also included is an accompanying ad for Chamberlain’s Stomach and Liver Tablets, praised by Mrs Rosa Potts of Birmingham for relief from biliousness and constipation.
