Rev P C Nelson delivers election sermon urging every man to be a candidate for the kingdom of God. Meetings grow in Ames with inspiring singing and outlook. events include Friday choir, children’s participation, and Saturday Armory motion pictures for 10 cents.
Robert Manson of West Burlington Iowa lay seven weeks in hospital with four doctors giving up. After eight months of liver trouble and yellow jaundice he took five bottles of Electric Bitters, which cured him completely. The medicine is guaranteed for stomach liver or kidney troubles and available for 50 cents at all druggists.
An advertisement urges readers to visit the Armory Saturday night and trust Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy to cure a settled cold. The copy claims the remedy works faster than others and leaves the system healthy, noting it is sold by all dealers.
Miss Maude Lamson of Jewell spent Sunday with Mrs. L. M. Warburton. Many visitors from Davenport, Sioux City, Nevada, Marshalltown and Des Moines joined Ames residents and alumni for weekend activities, games, and church events while others headed to Lincoln and Iowa City for football games and confirmations.
An old time ad notes 10 cent photo plays at the Armory. It promotes Foley's Honey and Tar cough remedy in a yellow carton with black letters. Emphasizes not accepting substitutes and urges purchase from all druggists.
Saturday specials arrive at W. A. Perry starting 9 a m featuring a seven inch Japanned coal hod twenty inch Japanned fire shovel and a path for fifteen seats.
Notice that the Christian Chapel near Gilbert will be sold at public auction at 1 oclock pm Friday November 18 1910. The sale includes the church building foundation stone pews organ chairs library out buildings and related property. Henry Donhowe Auctioneer.
The Lutheran Aid Society will host an oyster supper at Odd Fellows hall on Tuesday evening November 15 to raise funds for new church seating. Supper costs 25 cents and service runs from 6 to 8 30. Also promoting Hollister's Rocky Mountain Tea as a blood purifying remedy from Joe E Cagwin.
