Last Saturday in Marshalltown a plan for a secret marriage between Roy Spratt and Misa Mamie Roupe unraveled at Marion court when they could not secure a license without an ID. A friend’s slip led to the news, and back in Marshalltown the couple was mobbed by well wishers and Roy received cheers from numerous friends. Roy and Mamie both work at the C. H. Cully store in Marshalltown.

The Italian car Zust driven by Sirtori arrived at eight o clock Tuesday evening and was washed and lightened at L A Morris garage. The party lodged at Ames hotel for the night and left at about 6:30 am heading west at twenty mph, planning to overhaul the American car in the coming days.

Ernest McKay, twelve, son of Prof and Mrs G L McKay of the college, celebrated his second leap year birthday on February 29.
