Junior Class Stages Ibsen Play The Pillars of Society
The junior class at state college presented The Pillars of Society by Ibsen last Saturday evening. A large cast of over twenty performed, with D. M. McElroy as Consul Bernick delivering strong stormy scenes, supported by Maude Mirick Lena and others. The audience filled the house as the effort showed both promise and fatigue from the three hour drama.

A baby boy arrived at the home of Mr and Mrs John Orland last Thursday. The community notes include a dog and pony show by Gentry Bros this past weekend and several local moves. Aylile Smith graduated high school and started work the next day. Mr and Mrs George Kintzley moved into rooms in the Hamilton block, vacated by Adolph Wettstein, who then moved to 106 Duff Ave. Charley Taylor and wife welcomed a 10% pound boy born on Saturday at 714 Lyons Street Des Moines. Charley is the son of Mr and Mrs E Taylor of this city.

Dr and Mrs C M Proctor left for Fairdale Fla to visit the old home place. Ladies Cemetery association visited the Armstrong home east of Ames last Friday. Mrs H A Greeley entertained friends last Thursday at her country home. Music pupils of Mrs 8 S W Pickett gave a musicale in the Baptist church last Saturday. Pickett will continue summer lessons at Kellogg Avenue Mutual 154. The junioritas hosted a swell spread for the senioritas on the banks of the murmur ing Squaw. Ruth Watts spoke for the seniors with Edith Booker and Georgia Day replying. Various stunts followed the substantial refreshments.

Delta Phi Omega Third Annual Party in Adam's Hall
Lambda Alpha chapter held its third annual party with alumni and active members attending. A program of twenty dances was performed by Cram butt's orchestra on leather programs in the fraternity color blue, decorations featuring colors and pennants. Fred Shaw and Clarence Miller, Des Moines alumni members, were present. In a Methodist church program led by Prof. Alexander S. Thompson, the new pipe organ added strength to the concerts. Madame Sybil Sammis, soprano, impressed with a rich wide-ranging voice and dramatic power, delivered a standout performance including the solo from Rosini's Stabat Mater. Organists Margaret McElroy of Newton and Calvin Ringgenberg, and Georgina Van Aakin on violin, were noted for their accompaniment. Prof. and Mrs. Thompson were praised for their musical standards and efforts in closing their second year of work.

School pupils collect cards and certificates at superintendent home
Pupils who did not pick up their cards last Monday at the school house may obtain them by calling at the superintendent's residence, 621 Hoggart Avenue. Graduating students can also receive their college entrance certificates at the same location.
