Death of Miss Mary Leecing In Story County
Miss Mary Leecing died last Thursday morning at her Story street home after a months long tubercular peritonitis illness. Born in Bureau county Illinois forty five years ago she moved to Story county in 1867 and lived on a farm west of Ames before moving to Ames eight years ago. She leaves a widowed mother, a sister in Pennsylvania, brothers Gus in Ames and John in Rocky Ford California and a brother in law. Her will leaves eighty acre Ontario farm to John’s two sons for their education and the town property to Gus. Funeral was Saturday afternoon with Rev. A M Elliott. The body rests in Ontario cemetery beside parents and siblings. The family thanks friends for support during illness and after death.
