Laura Woodruff 1873 1907 Mourned as Faithful Wife and Mother

Laura Elizabeth Woodruff born Gettysburg Michigan December 29 1873 died at home near Crookston Minnesota December 16 1907 aged 32 years 11 months 17 days. She married John Perry near Ames Iowa March 22 1899 and their five children survive along with husband father a sister brother and many relatives. She joined the Methodist Episcopal church in 1887 and lived a devoted Christian life. A faithful wife and mother has gone to her reward.

The Ames Gun Club held a Christmas afternoon trap shoot at 2:00 on club grounds east of the city. About fifteen shooters competed with Clark posting the high average. A New Year’s cup shoot is planned at 2:30, drawing around fifteen entrants for what promises to be the season’s largest tournament.

On Sunday December 28 at the home of Alma Anfinson's parents Mr and Mrs Nels Anfinson in Kelley the marriage to Oliver Brown of Des Moines was performed. A three course wedding luncheon followed and many friends offered costly, useful presents. The bride is well known and respected. Brown is a Des Moines mechanical engineer. The couple will reside in Des Moines and friends extend best wishes.
