Ames Boy Helps Kill Alligator and Snake Armor
Warren Chamberlain and cousin George, recently moved near Coyote Gulch in Robstown, Texas, shot an eight foot alligator whose hide was sent to Des Moines to tan. George was bitten by a rattlesnake but recovered with care as Warren provided herbal remedies. The boys were praised for bravely defending against snakes while their Drake teammates, including Dugan and Scott, played tightly to defeat Ames with a late rally.

Brother of Ames carpenter dies in fatal Pasco fall
A. J. Nanamaker, a carpenter formerly in Boone, died in Pasco Washington after a 20 foot scaffold fall. He lived 23 hours unconscious with ribs torn from the spine and a crushed jaw after injuring Saturday April 17 at 4 80 and dying Sunday April 18. Burial was in Topanish. His brother J L Nanamaker of Ames is also a carpenter.

In Nevada district court last Thursday Mary Dvoracek won a divorce cross petition against Frank Dvoracek of Fort Dodge. Custody of the children was awarded to both parents. Dvoracek had faced multiple desertion charges and jail time over two years. He returned to Fort Dodge, where he works as a blacksmith, after the ruling.
