Thomasville Georgia a winter paradise for Northerners

Thomasville in Georgia attracts Northern visitors as a premier winter resort. The city features shaded streets, pine park, and liberal advertising by Captain John Triplett and Major Hopkins. Property values exceed Americus, with outer lots selling at twelve dollars per front foot. Local farms near Thomasville demonstrate profitable, well tilled smaller holdings. The pear crop faced some blight but overall prices were good. The Thomasville Times Enterprise, edited by Triplett, remains a modern, bustling paper supporting city growth.
