Competitive Drill at Columbus Guards Triumph in Georgia

In Columbus Georgia on April 98th the semicentennial of the Columbus Guards was celebrated. The Guards received the famed cannon Red Jacket back from Mr. Godfrey of New York before a competitive drill that featured the Guards and the Montgomery Blues. Judges Col Wiley Capt Branch and Capt Carnes awarded first prize to the Guards and second to the Blues. Capt Sneed Capt Garland and Lieut Lomax lauded both sides.
