Ramie plant and ramie fiber potential pop up in Atlanta
A long article notes A C Van Epps, father of Judge Howard Van Epps, living on a DeKalb county farm near the Fulton line. It details ramie cultivation, its growth showing twelve feet in a bundle hung at Fulton Superior Court, claims of high fiber yield, soil fertility, and potential for paper pulp. It also mentions elephants at the Philadelphia Zoo, a Dallas lottery winner, melons from Fort Daines, and a poison-tinged medical advertisement, ending with a riddle about uncles fat wife and a patent remedy.
