Brother attack leaves Jules Bird cut in Macon
Yesterday it was learned that Jules Bird of this county was seriously cut by his brother Tom in Macon last Friday over a game dispute. The blow cut the side. one side is said to be paralyzed and the wound may prove fatal. The assailant resides in Jones County.

Strange Case of Henry Turner on Speer Plantation
The medical fraternity ponders a case of Henry Turner a Black man on Major M Speer’s plantation south of the city. He was struck in the back of the head by a heavy frow from Alonzo Jackson causing a skull indentation and feared brain extrusion. Turner survived after weeks of illness. Jail Delivery Sparks Night Escape From County Jail
Coroner Parker and Deputy Forrest recaptured one of three escaping prisoners, John Green, near the jail after a coffee delivery by Monroe Adams’s daughter. Adams and Walter Ford remain at large.
