Warsaw's Big Fish Captured by Marooning Party
John M. Hall leads a marooning party including W. W. Osborne and Charles and Fleming Young to Warsaw beach where a monster sawfish weighing 650 pounds is hauled from a seine. The 124-foot length and 5 foot circumference are noted with a 3 foot 2 inch saw. The fish died hours later and was partially cured at a nearby tent. This is the second large sawfish in Savannah waters in recent years, with a much smaller prior catch about four years ago.
