A Happy Marriage on MecGarrah Street
A quiet wedding occurred at Mr. 5. McGarrah’s residence on MecGarrah Street at ten o’clock Wednesday morning. Miss Mary McGarrah wed Mr. M. J. Ross of Troy Alabama with Rev. John F. Purser officiating. Relatives and a few friends attended and gifts were exchanged. The bridal party departed on the 12:27 passenger train to Troy for their new home, as friends wish them lasting happiness. A Good Fall Till Pony Bucked Giddings

Death of Mrs Cook at Springstreet residence
Mrs. Cook died Tuesday evening at ten o'clock at her Springstreet home after a period of illness. About sixty eight, she was a devout Presbyterian and mother of Dr. W A Cook and Mr John Cook. Funeral services were conducted by Rev A B Campbell at Oak Grove cemetery Wednesday at 3 30 p m with many friends offering sympathy to her sons.

Henry Williams alias Henry Thomas the Negro boy who assaulted Mrs Guerry on Cotton Avenue was tried before Judge Pilebury. The boy claimed ignorance and received eight months on the gang after a fatherly talk. Gus Wright pled guilty to lying concealed weapon and was sentenced four months chain gang or a fine. He resisted arrest at Balden’s residence on Lamar Street. Sheriff Base’s first prisoner paid the fine.
