County Court Decisive Batons And Chain Gang Sentences
The County Court met yesterday with multiple verdicts. John Killens paid a $50 fine for stealing pants from Solomon's Saturday. John Clements pled guilty to two assault charges and one battery and paid $40. Green Gilbert was fined $25 for assault and battery. Mandy Parker was sent to the chain gang for 12 months for larceny from a person. Judge Pilsbury dismissed the gambling case against Newt Sheppard due to missing witnesses. Sam Powell pled guilty to carrying a pistol and faced twelve months on the chain gang or a $150 fine. William Powell was convicted of stabbing and also sentenced to twelve months on the chain gang. Runaway Horse Team Damages Bridge Partition
A farmer's wagon attached to a team of horses ran away yesterday morning near Cotton avenue as a switch engine approached on the Central Railroad. The horses struck the bridge partition over the culvert, halting the team. The driver was thrown and badly bruised. his name could not be ascertained.

Liquor Dealers Register But Many Withdrawals Noted
