Central Inspections Show Rail Line Advancement and Upgrades

The Savannah News reports the Central railroad’s inspection of the new line and its branches, led by General Manager Belknap. Findings praise the system’s overall above‑average condition while noting needed work on a few lines to prevent overflow and improve alignment, ballast, rails, and 127 miles of stringer track. The upgrade plan includes 56 new engines, 40 passenger cars, 500 freight cars, and 24 spans of new bridges, with costs estimated between 1.4 and 2 million dollars. Continuous inspections will guide future improvements and maintain continuous advancement.
