Old Minister James C. Mengrick Dies in Daw-
Dawson, Dec. 8. The Rev. James O. Kendrick died at 3 PM at his son in law’s home. He was 84, paralyzed on his right side, unable to speak the last week. A Primitive Baptist then Universalist preacher, he helped found Plains of Dura schools and churches. His death follows a long, gentle decline watched by kin including Dr. W. C. Kendrick, Mr. Jas. H. West, Mrs. M. K. West, and Miss Willie Harper.
