Jefferson county grand jury heard A. L. Boyd chief of convict supervisors recount the Banner mines mutiny of September 10. Boyd ordered leaders whipped after his investigation and declined further comment. No word on governor plans as Brandon indicated he would not tolerate such inquiries.
Oxford North Carolina September 21. Mrs Margaret Hester Ramsey 35 dies after delivering triplet boys several hours earlier. Doctors attribute death to physical shock from the triple ordeal. the three infant sons survive as her lasting contribution to the nation.
Thomas Jefferson Bowden, 79, died at his daughter Mrs. J A Chappell s home near Huntington at 10 30 this morning after a brief illness. He leaves four daughters and four sons, with a large family connection. A Pleasant Grove Baptist Church member and Civil War veteran, he had lived in the Pleasant Grove area 17 years and was active in religious and civic life. Funeral details await arrival of relatives.
Brunswick Sept 21 In police court yesterday three persons were fined 3 for violating the city ordinance forbidding bright auto lights This sum may rise as all auto drivers were given a notice that traffic laws will be enforced strictly Chief Register directed police to arrest all violators
William P. Anderson, state superintendent of the Anti Saloon League, accuses New York newspapers of suppressing facts about a pending trial over alleged league funds misuse. He says only one morning paper published the key detail showing city enforcement officials sought grand jury minutes via a Protestant attorney and former governor amid denials by the judge.
Boston reports the death of William Tudor, mining expert, in Venice Italy. A 1871 Harvard graduate who studied portrait painting before turning to mining, he served as president of the Liveoak Phosphate Company with work in Georgia and Florida.
Americus High School held a Thursday election for senior class officers. After tied ballots, lots determined officers: President Melvin Tye, Vice-President William Carswell, Secretary Alice Harrold, Treasurer Chloe Davenport, Poet Willa Sanborn, Historian Fannie Love Stevens. Class prophet position deferred.
Valdosta September 21. What is believed to be a record hay crop is found on the place of F. W. Schorer just north of the city. He has fourteen acres from which he has cut twenty tons of fine peavine hay this season. This illustrates what can be grown on Lowndes county land when properly cultivated.

Washington reports the death of James E. Kendig of Salunga Pennsylvania raises the death toll from yesterday’s explosion at the Bureau of Standards to four. Five others are hospitalized in critical condition, with three additional victims having died Thursday. An official investigation into the cause is underway.

Valdosta report tells of Charles Zipperer’s two hour chase in Tiger Creek swamp on Wed across a wide area. The red dish brown wild cat in very poor condition was as large as a big pointer dog and displayed typical wildcat traits before being run down and killed.

In Statenville on September 21 the jury convicted Mrs Joe Copeland of voluntary manslaughter in the death of John Roberts at Mayday. She faces two years in prison and was immediately guarded to Valdosta for appeal. Officials noted intense feeling and armed guards at the courthouse entrances.
Valdosta reports J Ss Cone, living near the Berrien line, says several pigs about six weeks to two months old died after feeding on fallen china berries in his yard. He notes four died within four hours despite pigs appearing healthy before grazing. He did not know berries would kill pigs though he knew robins could be made drunk.
