Typhoid cases drop in Sumter County this year
Dr. J W Chambliss of the Sumter County Health Department reports only two typhoid cases in September and October 1925, down from seven in 1924, after rural vaccination and toxin and antitoxin serum campaigns. One case is a negro resident fourteen miles from Americus, the other a white girl ten miles away, both outside the highway. Thirty-two exposed in the negro case vaccinated. the exposed in the white case refused. General health in the county is very good, with nearby towns lacking toxin and antitoxin treatment showing five times more diphtheria cases than Americus.

Writer Nina Putnam Robbed by Bandits on Ocean Boulevard
Nina Wilcox Putnam, novelist with a winter home at Delray, and her companion R. W. Gauger were robbed by five unmasked bandits near Delray on the ocean boulevard. Two Dead In Rear End Crash Near Macon
