A major blaze in Clarksville Tennessee at 1:30 a m destroyed the Grange Tobacco warehouse the Louisville and Nashville railroad freight depots Graceys storage warehouse and several tenement houses The total loss is about 500000 with most damage to tobacco holdings owned by Tarnley Gill Atlantic Snuff and partners Fire origin uncertain but suspected incendiary and most of the books and records were saved Five tenement homes burned and the Grange warehouse the largest tobacco warehouse in the world burned with its five floor space and cost 65000 to build.
