The D C Jones farm near Leslie sold for about 100000 to J R Mathis of Dooly county. The 1865 acre property will be farmed with 40 plows next year. Leesburg reports several other deals under consideration and a large sale to be announced soon. Land transactions in the region have surpassed 350000 and keep rising.
Senator Harris of Georgia proposes legislation to reform government crop reporting to curb speculation on cotton exchanges. The plan keeps reporting but shifts to daily data from crop reporters, discards the July and August estimates, and bases forecasts on crop condition. Reports would follow close of exchanges, with daily totals from New York and New Orleans exchanges to limit market manipulation.
Cornelia Georgia November 19 A bond issue of 225000 dollars was carried by a substantial majority to pave the State highway through Habersham County. The funds will be spent on the main trunk line extending from Rabun County to the South Carolina line.
Union High of Leslie meets Plains High on Aggie court Friday at 7 30 for the season opener. Rivalry is keen and a Plains win would be historic. Plains reports say Union High must harden their defense while both teams bring large crowds and a small admission is charged.
A non sectarian revival sponsored by Richland Business Men's Bible class concluded after ten days with participation from all four town churches. The youths have escaped five times., Governor Walker’s clemency potential remains unsettled as the likely January hanging looms in circles.

Richland Georgia November 19 Mr John G Spann a 54 year old prominent farmer near Richland died yesterday afternoon from an overdose of strychnine believed taken in a personal crisis. He had been in ill health and worry over finances is blamed. Survived by wife Anna Ball Spann several children sisters and brothers. Buried at Poplar Springs Cemetery this afternoon.
