Smithville GA May 28 commencement exercises at the Smithville High School featured a strong sermon by Rev Culbertson of Shellman and a large audience. Five graduates received diplomas: Alice Ausley salutatorian Mary Pipkin Rose Christie Lucille Cochran and Eva Edwards. Principal Prof Pipkin delivered the baccalaureate. Local families and visitors attended related events and many townspeople celebrated the graduates before summer break.
