In Columbus Georgia on May 19 Mrs Leila Humber claimed accidental death in the shooting of her husband Lucius F Humber a prominent Columbus warehouseman and planter. He allegedly said before dying that his wife shot him over property. Mrs Humber is jailed for murder awaiting preliminary trial. Humber, 73, owned land in Sumter county and parts of Flintside. Mrs Humber, 50, also owned the W W Hooks farm. W M Humber travels from Americus after the tragedy.
