Dr. T. D. Ellis, pastor of Mulberry Methodist church in Macon and former presiding elder, was elected secretary of the board of church extension of the Southern Methodist church at Hot Springs. He will move to Louisville. The conference chose other officers, including Dr. John Shackford as general secretary of the Sunday school board and Dr. I. B. Chappell as editor of literature, separating duties formerly held by one man.

Tom Harris an Englishman aged 79, long prominent moonshiner, was arrested Tuesday near Huntington after deputies seized a large still and gear including fifteen barrels and a brick furnace. A prior federal conviction followed an earlier county acquittal. Bond was set at 750 dollars as authorities noted wagon tracks leading to the hidden site.

William Van Buren Miliken formerly of Gainesville and longtime Florida resident is in Americus with his wife and their three children Juanita Orrville and Wayne visiting Mr and Mrs Phil Smith on Lamar Street. Library board grants four month leave to Miss Speer
At the annual library board meeting Miss Carrie Speer was reelected librarian at 75 dollars monthly and granted a four month unpaid vacation to pursue summer study. Susie Taylor will serve as librarian during her absence starting June 1. The board re elected Thomas Harrold president John Sheffield vice president and Miss Speer treasurer. C M Hale was elected secretary replacing ill E A Nisbet. The librarian's report was received and a vote of thanks given to Miss Speer for her excellent work.
