New Railroad and Cotton Mill Planned for Barnesville

Barnesville, Ga May 14 Two major projects eyed for Barnesville include a proposed railroad to link as a terminal point and a second cotton mill estimated at about 250000 dollars. A Barrysville board of trade committee will canvass railway feasibility and pledges already exist. A wealthy millman visiting the city has offered to finance a substantial portion of the mill with citizens expected to cover the balance.

May 14 1920 at Wilkeswarne Pennsylvania a plot to murder Father Theopilus Klonowsky pastor of St Marys Catholic church failed as he escaped ambush while visiting a sick man. Factions say unrest within the parish preceded the attempt. He was shot at a home window but survived.

Whitney's Slayer Shot to Death in Georgia Mulecar Tragedy

Aleck Whitney a popular young man was shot and killed Sunday afternoon on a Summer Street electric car in Aversoa Georgia after refusing a black man and his companion a seat. The assailant William Wilson was seized by passengers and later lynched by a mob in Grovetown after being brought back to Richmond County.

Confederate Veterans Meet Planned for Waycross July 4

The South Georgia division plans a grand review in Waycross on July 4 with General McGlashan invited. Camps from Savannah, Waycross, Brunswick, Gainesville, Valdosta, Dupont, Quitman, Thomasville and others likely bring 10 to 1,000 veterans. Robert J. Trimble, a stockholder, files in chancery court alleging surplus over $1,000,000 was used to depress sugar prices and coordinate actions with Arbuckle Bros. and American Sugar Refining to restrain trade. John Brown Birthday Centenary Observed in Chicago Bethel
