Paris May 12 official results show the Poincare cabinet has lost its majority in the chamber of deputies. With 16 seats short, the ministry faces a minority of more than 50 votes in the new chamber.
Kerosene used to light a kitchen fire ignited draped wall paper as a blaze swept a four room home in Millinocket Maine. Mrs John Bragan and four of six children died the father John Bragan and two sons jumped from upper windows and were hospitalized with critical injuries. The youngest victim was three years old.
Atlanta May 12 James Tipton well known young attorney was killed and ten others injured in auto mishaps as police battle reckless driving. Tipton died in a crash near Grantville with Evelyn Brazell and Mr Hood injured. Others hurt include T R Johnson W C English W J Griffin W G Bassett W J Pottey Darrah E K Lee D A Stoddard Charlie Holt. Damage to property amounted to a heavy financial loss.
Valdosta May 12 At a bishops meeting in Nashville Bishop W N Ainsworth was assigned to the South Georgia Conference. The 1923 session date is set for November 19 with the Bainbridge meeting location for the conference.
A letter from C D Fambrough D C of Americus Ga states advertisements in the Americus Times Recorder pay off. He reports seeing results almost immediately and credits the paper for effective advertising, noting strong direct outcomes and overall satisfaction with the newspaper as a publicity vehicle.
A large steamship, name and flag unknown, grounded in a dangerous position on the Goodwin sands amid heavy fog near Deal England. Lifeboats and tugs rushed to aid the vessel as concern grew over possible liner status with heavy traffic past the sands.
Train No 46 a Central of Georgia fruit train wrecked Sunday morning near Andersonville. A carload of grapefruit damaged about 200 dollars. Agent Channing White says cause of the Albany to Macon Train No 8 delay of about two hours is not yet known.

J A Kelly of Atlanta will operate a Seaboard Air Line poultry car in Americus Thursday afternoon May 15. Poultry will be weighed and paid for at the depot, with a Savannah bound car starting Friday morning and stopping at Huntington Leslie DeSoto and Cobb to load. Prices to be announced Tuesday afternoon. all classes of poultry accepted.
Valdosta May 12. Two bovine owners appeared at the council meeting seeking relief from pound fees after their cattle were taken in. The council voted to refund half the charges, noting one yearling escaped and a boy employed to watch the other cows quit, resulting in seizure. The owners voiced thanks.

Valdosta May 12 The council reviewed re establishment of the two platoon system in the fire department drawing a large audience. After full presentation the issue was laid on the table pending a recessed meeting scheduled for Friday afternoon May 23.

Major Frederick L. Martin and Staff Sergeant Alva L. Harvey, long believed missing since April 30 after their round‑the‑world flight from Chignik, are safe at Port Moller Alaska. A radiogram says their Seattle plane struck a mountain near Port Moller an hour and a half after leaving Chignik but both aviators were unharmed. They survived on concentrated food and nerve, reached a trapper’s cabin at Port Moller Bay, and were rescued after at least a week on the trek.
Mrs Frederick L Martin in San Diego says she is the happiest woman in the world after receiving a telegram that ends two weeks of sleepless waiting for news of her flier husband Fred L Martin. She describes relief and overwhelming emotion as the news arrives after prior disappointments and long strain.
The Times Recorder reports Union High School Leslie will now play Cuthbert on Saturday May 17 at 3 o clock. Cuthbert has fast players while Union High hopes for victory. A return game between Plains and Leslie is announced for Thursday at Leslie.
