The oil committee voted unanimously to certify Harry F. Sinclair to the Senate for contempt after he refused to testify, claiming any evidence he holds should be reserved for the courts. He stated there is nothing in his knowledge about Teapot Dome that could incriminate him.
Former outlaw turned evangelist and politician Al Jennings told Long Beach reporters he would testify to a Senate oil probe about a $1000 cash payment that he says bought the nomination of the late President Harding. He spoke before departing for Washington, with the Long Beach Telegraph carrying the account.
Douglas March 22 John Alton and Eugenia Rogers received life terms after pleading guilty to the murder of Love S. Rogers, Alton’s brother and Eugenia’s husband. The Coffee Superior Court judge accepted pleas with a jury verdict of guilty and mercy.
Senator Smoot declared the House estimate of the soldier bonus bill will cost $2,119,000 is much too low. The statement was made in Washington on March 22 as debates continued on the measure.

The vestry of St Mark's in the Bonnerie, New York, after a three hour meeting, pledges to defy Bishop Manning and support rector Rev Dr William Norman Guthrie in conducting the paga ritual dances. It plans to announce next Sunday that the Dance of the Annunciation will be staged in the church soon.
In Dalton Georgia on a Friday afternoon Fred Teasley 28 shot his young wife at their home just east of the city limits and then fatally shot himself. Both were rushed to Hamilton hospital with wounds considered fatal. The wife was shot in the presence of her mother with whom they lived. no motive is known.

Dan Gillis, a longtime Worshipful Master of Cen terville Lodge at Julia, Ga., died Friday at his home near Julia after a period of serious illness. He was 87, blind for ten years, and a brother to Scott Gillis of Lumpkin and Dr. Neil Gillis of Omaha. Funeral services with Masonic honors were held at Irena, with interment in the church cemetery.

London on March 22 faced a complete halt in public transport as tramway workers walked out in sympathy with omnibus staff over wage demands. About 3500 omnibuses and several tramway firms were affected, with an estimated 7 million daily riders disrupted. Subway workers may join the protest.
Arlington New Jersey March 22 Roy W Wingate was found shot across the bed by his 14 year old daughter. Mrs Wingate, bleeding near the heart, was conscious as police arrived and accused her husband of shooting her before killing himself.
Roxie Stinson resumed the witness stand and produced new supporting documents for her claims. Will Hays denied that Harry F. Sinclair financed the 1920 Republican deficit, stating he knew Sinclair for years and that Sinclair’s contribution did not exceed 75 000 dollars. Senator Wheeler called Daugherty’s charges against Miss Stinson a dirty cowardly trick as the hearing continued with DOJ pressure noted.
Georgia legislator from Tattnall County Herschel Elders declared his gubernatorial candidacy. He vows to campaign in every Georgia county starting May 1, criticize Atlanta political rings, and push an economy oriented platform with tax relief. Elders says his team will operate from rooms 298 and 210 in the Kimball and vows a straight talking, anti‑ring stance.
