The heaviest snow of the season fell in Washington on March 21 with continuous snowfall from last night through the morning. Reports say severe storms spread to Oklahoma and Kansas with two feet of snow in some areas, while Chicago felt a north wind and the blizzard extended into Indiana and Illinois. Traffic was blocked and railroads and wire service were crippled in St. Louis.

Carl E Ansley Dies After Brief Illness
Carl Elbert Ansley a prominent Americus businessman died after a two week illness from appendicitis at Americus and Sumter County Hospital. Funeral 3:30 p.m. from L. G. Council residence with Rev. John M. Cutler and Rev. James B. Lawrence officiating. Oak Grove cemetery burial. He was 87, never married, survived by numerous relatives including aunts and uncles, and was active in Harris Council development and Planters Bank. He served in World War II at Camp Holabird and was a Auburn Polytechnic graduate.

Miss Agnes White will lead each day with cakes and icings first afternoon, Sunday supper and luncheon dishes second, and afternoon tea and party ideas third. Sessions in county home demonstration offices basement of courthouse, proceeds fund camp house at Athens State College of Agriculture for six week summer study and recreation for state youth.
