It highlights Balbriggan stockings, spring shoes, underwear from 1 to 5 dollars, Manhattan shirts from 1 to 3, made-to-measure spring suits, and a full range of neckwear suspenders collars cuffs handkerchiefs and Knox wat fills to complete the toilet.
In Sumter County a farmer, Wm. Tillman, was tried on a peace warrant after his wife testified to years of drink fueled abuse. She described midnight chases with a knife, slaps, and threats to kill her and their children, with Tillman often drunk and unrepentant. Judge Mathews ordered a 400 bond. Tillman remained jailed awaiting next week’s assault with intent to murder case.
Cordel e will host Governor Northen at Shipp’s opera house on the 18th. Dooly superior court sits with 125 cases. lawyers from Americus and Hawkinsville attend.
