Baptists to Meet at Shiloh in April

The Friendship Baptist Association holds its annual Sunday school convention at Shiloh church near Americus from April 14 to 16. Delegates from Sumter County and other Friendship churches are urged to attend. The program, led by Rev. A B Hawkes, includes prayers, sermons, lectures, and evangelizing sessions. Trains will be met in Americus by local organizers.

Barrett Organizing Farmers Unions in Several States

National President Charles E Barrett of the Farmer Union plans to organize the union in North Carolina on April 1 and Colorado on April 16, with Kentucky Indiana and Washington to follow. He is in Washington for a meeting of state presidents to press legislation sought by the union.

Visiting agricultural speakers draw thousands at Georgia depot

A state agricultural education special drew about 9000 listeners at the Central of Georgia depot. The crowd included many farmers and students. speakers covered cotton, wheat, dairying and labor-saving machinery. President Soule spoke briefly and soon leaves for Athens. Gov. Smith was not aboard.
