Rome March 3 After a four week illness the death of Judge Max Meyerhardt a prominent Rome citizen occurred yesterday morning. He was 68 and a longtime leader in Georgia politics and Masonic circles serving as Cherokee Lodge master for forty years grand master of Georgia Masons seven years city education board secretary twenty five years and Rome city attorney since 1909. He chaired the Carnegie Library of Rome since its 1910 founding and was a leading figure in the Rome bar and city affairs.

Flew 12 Planes Leave Kell Field for Porto Rico
Six giant airplanes carried 12 air service officers from Kell Field in San Antonio shortly after 8 am on a flight to Porto Rico. The lead ship took off at 8 01 and the rest followed within 30 seconds. The formation circled the field then headed south toward Houston with a 12 mile east wind.

International Court Participation Deadlock Reaches Senate
The administration plan for American participation in the international court, organized by the League of Nations, was shelved as the Senate voted 49 to 24 against proceeding with Senator King’s resolution to grant the president authority. The vote split largely along party lines, with all Republicans except Norbeck voting against. Three Democrats, Walsh and Walsh, supported the measure.
