Huge snake killed near ice plant site
A five foot three inch rattlesnake, claimed to be the largest seen in the area for years, was killed Friday afternoon near the Atlantic Ice and Coal Co plant at Spin Street. Eyewitnesses described it as the biggest they had ever seen, with a remark that it was the largest boar coastrie in the world. Captain Van Riper said Ross Bubbard killed it, with the carcass seen near the Dudley Warehouse property adjacent to the ice plant.

James Edison of Columbus convicted of larceny and Charles H Crosby of Columbus found guilty of violating the Harrison narcotic act. Severe Storm Wreaks Crops Across Sumter County
A heavy hail and rain storm last night caused extensive crop damage in Sumter County. The Methvin, Matthews, and Summerford farms in the Twenty-eighth district suffered severe foliage loss on cotton and corn.
