On or about July 15 a stock sale will move to 421 Jack on street. Dry goods cloth es shoes hats gents furnishings offered cheap with inducements to sell rather than move. Readily visible prices promise quick sale of unsold goods.
Extensive yard wide Percale Silk prints and figured Batiste offered at low cash prices. Quality White West Point Linens and Gingham fabrics highlight a broad stock with discounts during this sale. Dress linens, madras, and check Nalosooks priced per yard, with selected pieces for dresses and waists. Cash sales emphasized. charged purchases reflect regular prices.
A local shop announces a crisis sale to clear mismatched neckwear including 5-ply linen collars and teoks while slashing prices across shirts suits and shoes. Details of the battle near Perez das Marinas show five Americans killed and twenty eight wounded. General Wheaton’s forces renewed the assault, entered the town amid light resistance, and later retreated toward Imus after a desperate engagement. The alcalde surrendered, and natives aided the insurgent effort before the American troops withdrew under heavy fire.
General Otis reports Wheaton at Imus Cavite with four guns and four battalions repelling an enemy force of about three thousand marching to attack Imus. Wheaton advanced with two guns and battalions, inflicted heavy losses, over 300 dead, and is pursuing toward Das Marinas. Our casualties were five killed and 33 wounded. Miles cites the Philippine situation as serious. Transports to Manila include Zealandia and others from Frisco within a week. Mrs. Baker of London dying of grief after her husband’s death in Kentucky.
Pensacola dispatch reports a small magazine at Fort Pickens exploded after catching fire early this morning. One man killed, four badly injured. the larger magazine containing dynamite remained in danger but fort defenses were saved. Commandant’s message confirms fire and heavy explosion. crews worked to control the blaze with naval aid.
