On or about July 1 we will take our semiannual inventory and convert goods into cash. Many bargains will be offered in every department of our dry goods clothing shoe hat and gents furnishing goods house. Every article is at a bona fide under value price for cash.

One lot good linen collars lightly broken and 500 dozen in stock. Cuffs slightly soiled. Large line of Negligee shirts with attached and detached collars from 400 to 800 for prices 0c to 125. Also new line of light weight summer night shirts, cool and pleasant for hot weather.
Auction catalog shows multiple ladies shoes lots including careers, oxfords, and Edwin Burts styles. Prices range from 4 to 5 dollars per pair to up to 350 dollars for premium lots with several lots detailed for liquidation.
Washington learns Commodore Watson reports Spanish government refuses to exchange Captain Hobson and seven comrades from the sinking of the Merrimac. Flags over Morro Castle had signaled their death, raising safety concerns as officials note earlier talks of an exchange with Spanish prisoners. Captain Ludlow’s negotiations in Havana yielded no authority for the exchange.
Cincinnati dispatch reports two men fired the King Powder Company finishing department in Warren County destroying smokeless powder. One man badly burned was dragged away toward South Lebanon by a companion who fled. The powder burned bright lighting the area and drawing witnesses. An injured foreigner was seized for questioning. Estimated loss around 2000 dollars. No fresh war advices available from Port au Prince at news time.
