An ammonia boiler exploded at Crystal Ice and Coal in Evizapets City North Carolina July 33. The blast destroyed the ice factory and damaged nearby property estimated at 810,000. One fireman died and another was seriously injured while Superintendent Dunstan narrowly escaped. Large tank fragments pierced the factory office as the explosion occurred. The city faces an ice famine and fish industry impact.

Corvusus Ga July 24 H T Dudley a Russell county farmer fatally shot his wife at their Akland Als home during a melon meal. He placed a pistol on the table, later handling it to put it away and an accidental discharge struck Mrs Dudley in the temple. She died soon after. Dudley did not know the weapon was loaded. Mrs Dudley, 25, left three children.
