Cleveland Strife Sparks Military Call to Quell Street Car Riots

About 600 more men were mobilized, with Battery A of the First Ohio Artillery and three Ohio infantry companies leading the response. A suburb car bombing near Wickliffe and Willoughby injured several passengers, including a city resident and a 9 year old girl. Police reported the blast damaged the car but allowed it to proceed at slow speed. Authorities expected state troops if needed to restore order. Later, Deputy marshals arrested William Strouth Charles Newberry and Henry Strouth near Bristol in a separate case.
