James Ozburn Hanged for Murder in Georgia

Charles M. Ozburn died by hanging at Laxta on July 24 after Governor Northen refused reprieve. Witnesses described a private, somber scene as the condemned man, calm yet detached, was led to the gallows. The execution followed a lengthy process, with clergy prayers and last messages, before the drop released him at 12:38.
